What Happened (reconstructed)

The recording of this session did not survive, so there is no scene-by-scene account. Based on the recap the GM gave at the start of Session 04 and the state of the party going into it, this session covered the journey out of the ruins of Heron and toward the trail left by Harland Ashworth:

  • After escaping the burning of Heron, the party traveled a safe distance from the quarantine, sheltering overnight in a patch of forest rather than the open grasslands. EMBR and Buddy — both warforged, both sleepless — kept watch while the others dreamed of the town's destruction.
  • Reading the documents Orvin had given them, the party decoded a destination in Harland Ashworth's hand: the Voss estate.
  • They traveled for days on horseback, stopping at the edge canton of Halvaran — a place unsympathetic to the Inquisition and the King, safe enough to speak openly.
  • There they parted ways with the survivors of Heron: Buddy, Sable, Maret, and Orvin. Orvin took them into his care and began rebuilding his network of safehouses from Halvaran. The party rented horses for the road ahead.

The party then continued on to the Voss Estate — which is where the recorded account resumes in Session 04.

Carried Forward Into Session 04

  • The party is down to its five core members, riding for the Voss estate.
  • The Heron survivors are safe in Halvaran with Orvin, who is now a relay contact.
  • Harland's documents (decoded to point at the Voss estate) are in hand.
  • Open threads from Sessions 01–02 remain: the omen ("Poor little innocents get caught in the shadow of the raven"), Harland's research on the walls, and the celestial star chart.

If a recording or notes for this session ever surface, this page should be replaced with a full brief and story to match the rest of the campaign.
