A grand and now a little decrepit and in-disrepair sprawl of land with large structures, none of it seeming to be maintained very well.

Overview

The Voss estate is a once-grand, now-decaying sprawl of land and structures, home to Seraphine Voss. The party located it by decoding Harland Ashworth's journal — a short ride from the canton of Halvaran. Fresh hoofprints and footprints marked recent traffic through the grounds. Beneath the estate, in a hidden library, Harland stored the secret research that now drives the party beyond the walls.

The Buried Library

Behind a secret door in Seraphine's wine cellar, a staircase descends into an underground library — Harland's hidden research collection. Dust, oil sconces, leather-bound books, ink pots, and bundles of loose notes. At the far end, a brass telescope juts up a narrow shaft, capped with an enchanted magic lens that reveals the ever-cloudy sky of Caligo as a cloudless blue. Jorath pried the lens free; attuned, it sees through clouds, fog, and even darkness.

Among the papers: Harland's chronological journals (the linguistic study of Kalanthar, the "Deceiver," Calthar, the sealed level, the Crail artifact, his final unreturned journey) and sketches of a warforged frame with a chitin arm like EMBR's "Lefty."
