Ilivarra

She was humming an old lullaby, the same one she sang every night, when the pounding began.

Overview

Ilivarra is Valdren Zau'tar's mother. She was dragged from her home on Millbrook Lane by the Inquisition twelve years before the start of the campaign, alongside her two younger children Phaerun and Zibrisa. Her fate is unknown.

What Valdren Remembers

• She hummed an old lullaby every night when putting his siblings to bed.
• She was the one putting Phaerun and Zibrisa to bed when the pounding on the door began.
• The Inquisitors wore dark greatcoats with silver ravens on the lapels.
• She did not get to say goodbye.

First Trace — Session 06

In Session 06, the party found Ilivarra's clothing in a display case in Lord Oswin Crail's trophy room, mounted beside a small plaque bearing her name and her age. Crail kept it as a souvenir of the raid.

It is the first physical evidence of her existence Valdren has found in twelve years. It does not say where she went. It does say that someone who is still alive, still wealthy, and now standing on the ground floor of his own house, was there.

Role in Session 07

Questioned with Speak with Dead, Lord Oswin Crail said the families of heretics are kept at the ID Seven Correctional Annex, an Inquisition-only facility in the Fold. Asked whether they were still alive, he answered: "Depends on their usefulness."

Status

Unknown. Presumed taken to an Inquisition site under Civilian Relocation Operations. Valdren has spent his life looking for her — and now carries her clothing and her name plaque. Possibly held at the ID Seven Correctional Annex.
