Phaerun

Phaerun, age eight, screamed.

Overview

Phaerun is Valdren Zau'tar's younger brother. He was eight years old the night the Inquisition came for the family. He was taken alongside his mother Ilivarra and sister Zibrisa.

What Valdren Carries

The broken halves of Phaerun's wooden practice sword, snapped during the struggle that night. Valdren keeps them.

Since Session 06, also Phaerun's wooden soldier — recovered from a display case in Lord Oswin Crail's trophy room, where it sat beside a plaque giving his name and his age at the time he was taken.

Role in Session 07

Questioned with Speak with Dead, Lord Oswin Crail said the families of heretics are kept at the ID Seven Correctional Annex, an Inquisition-only facility in the Fold. Asked whether they were still alive, he answered: "Depends on their usefulness."

Status

Unknown. Twelve years missing. If alive, he would now be twenty. His toy came home before he did. Possibly held at the ID Seven Correctional Annex.
